Scope & Content:

  • Posters, leaflets, books, newspapers, photographs, correspondence, artwork, emails, internet printouts, T-shirts, buttons, military administrative documents and photocopied FBI reports concerning Terry Dubose and the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) document Dubose and his service as the coordinator for the Texas Regional Office of the VVAW.

Biographical Note:

  • Terry DuBose enlisted in the army on August 15, 1966, and requested training as an officer. In July of 1967, after completing Officer Candidate School and Airborne Training, Terry DuBose was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lt. In August of 1967, DuBose was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam as a quartermaster. DuBose served with the 53rd General Support Group until July 1968, when he came back to the United States. Following a tour of duty at Fort Sill, OK, DuBose entered the U.S. Army Reserves. In October 1972, DuBose was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. Following his return to the Austin, Texas area DuBose became active in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War movement, eventually named regional coordinator. At the end of 1972, DuBose resigned this position. Currently DuBose is the Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas, USA.
